Position overview:
Blue Orange Digital is hiring a Principal / Solutions Architect for a discovery and architecture engagement with a global management consulting client, combining enterprise data architecture and data modeling in a single role. You will define how data moves from source to consumption across a complex client environment, translate that thinking into content client executives can act on, and hold your own with a technically sharp client team that expects real pushback, not agreement.
This is a senior individual-contributor role with high client-facing exposure and no direct reports.
Responsibilities:
Design enterprise data architecture, from logical to physical, across a greenfield and consolidation environment
Build data models that support the client’s current and future data needs
Define non-functional requirements, including data velocity, change frequency, and data ownership boundaries
Apply Databricks and medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) fluency to structure recommendations
Produce substantive content for client-facing presentations, supplying the thinking that becomes polished, executive-ready decks
Requirements:
Experience in enterprise data architecture, from logical design through physical implementation
Data modeling experience on greenfield or consolidation environments
Ability to define non-functional requirements such as data velocity, change frequency, and ownership boundaries
Fluency in Databricks and medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold)
Experience producing substantive, presentation-ready content for client or executive audiences
Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and teammates
Preferred qualifications:
Experience designing data mesh operating models
Insurance or risk domain exposure
Experience scoping source systems outside your direct control
