Solution Architect Tech Lead - Data & AI (Lebanon)

Position Overview:
This role is for an expert-level engineering and consulting leader, able and comfortable travelling and engaging select clients in Lebanon and Switzerland, and who can define and manage modern data architecture solutions in Azure and Azure Fabric.
This role directly engages clients, face-to-face and in-person, leads delivery, mentors others, and influences the technical direction of client projects, with deep knowledge of system optimization and data governance.
Experience: 7+ years of industry experience as a hands-on practitioner in Data Engineering, with extensive cloud platform experience (e.g., 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure) and in-depth hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric.
Core Responsibilities:
Define and implement architectural solutions that ensure the delivery speed and scalability of data pipelines, including the design and enforcement of the Medallion Architecture (or similar tiered structures).
Lead the adoption of managed and serverless cloud offerings, in Fabric and other stacks, to create performant and scalable cloud-native application solutions, leveraging lakehouses and warehouses.
Drive best practices for advanced ETL/ELT workflows, data governance, and data quality across platforms, utilizing tools like dbt and Fivetran for orchestrating jobs and executing code from notebooks.
Serve as a technical leader, defining and enforcing data security and access control policies across all data pipelines and platforms.
Serve as a technical leader, ensuring robust systems across heterogeneous technology environments and BI integrations (e.g., Tableau, Looker, and Power BI).
Key Requirements:
Expertise and experience with Fabric and Fabric AI, including Fabric Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Vector Indexing Strategies (eg, Azure AI Search)
Hands-on SCD2 implementation understandings using Change Data Capture (CDC) pipeline sources
Strong abilities supporting and directing work with data analysts, engineers, BI professionals, etc., covering:
DirectLake mode, large-scale Semantic Models
Power BI, DAX optimization
Semantic Model performance tuning
Mastery of Python and PySpark with advanced proficiency in SQL (TypeScript/JavaScript/Java a plus).
Extensive experience designing and building robust CI/CD pipelines and managing Infrastructure as Code.
Deep expertise in ETL/ELT process optimization, dimensional data modeling, and data security best practices.
Expertise in Fabric (and optionally other data platforms) with and exposure to all lakehouse/warehouse functionality, services and implementation patterns.
Experience or exposure to working with and analyzing SAP S4/HANA data
Experience with ELT/ETL of other ERP data systems
Consulting & Communication:
Serve as the key lead resource in client-facing consulting, driving customer engagement, influencing technical solutions for clients, and presenting complex architectural decisions.
Proven ability to meaningfully and productively engage customers, influence technical direction in consulting environments, and effect successful outcomes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders and at all levels.
